Speed Dating the Musical premiered in June 2006 at The Battersea Barge, London and then moved to Upstairs at the Gatehouse Theatre, Highgate where it was part of the highly successful Perfect Pitch event for new musicals in 2006.
Speed Dating is a firmly tongue in cheek musical revue written by Jamie Ledwith, that introduces the audience to the joys of Speed Dating – warts and all.
Originally written for two female West-End performers playing over a dozen characters, (including bouncers!), this one-hour show included musical pastiche at its best with hilarious comic results. It originally Starred Leanne Rogers (Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard, Oliver) & Jenna Boyd (Les Miserables, The Beautiful Game, Acorn Antiques) and later joined for Perfect Pitch by Louise Raven (Mamma Mia). Now Speed Dating is being developed into a full length musical for an ensemble cast.
